How Bad Habits Become Good Habits…
Let’s face it…we all have bad habits.
If you are anything like me, I’m always looking for ways to turn my bad habits into good habits!
So what do you have to do to live with your life surrounded by good habits?
Here’s a simple way to start thinking about how to change a bad habit…
Example Bad Habit: Skipping Breakfast
Example Good Habit: Having a Healthy Breakfast
Here’s a list with some suggestions which will show you the process of replacing bad habits with good habits…
1. Make a list of all the things you like to eat for breakfast, then go to your local store, buy them and keep them stocked in your kitchen.
2. Try and form the habit not to eat anything after 5:00pm every day. I guarantee you’ll be hungry enough to eat breakfast when the time arrives!
3. Find out for yourself what the real benefits are for eating breakfast…google “what are the benefits of eating breakfast”. Print out what you have found out and stick it somewhere you will see it first thing in the morning!
4. Start a new habit…go to the kitchen and have a look at the food you have there to eat for breakfast! That’s not an invite to eat anything…all you have to do is remind yourself the food is there.
5. When breakfast time arrives…DON’T EAT IT ALL! Just start with a small bowl of cereal or eat a banana!
6. Once your body has got over the shock of receiving something to eat at the start of every day, then you can start thinking about increasing food amount once your body starts to looking forward to being nourished at that time of the day!
7. Never miss a day once you have started…it’s likely you will start NOT eating anything again!
8. A lot of people will tell you it’s a good idea to create a trigger,for example, eat something after you’ve had your coffee or an orange juice. The eat the breakfast food.
9. Slowly but surely, start to increase the amount of food you eat until you’re finally starting the day with a healthy breakfast!
10. It won’t take long before you notice the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast…write down the benefits and put them somewhere you can see them.
Now all you have to do is swap the word BREAKFAST with ANY of the bad habits you KNOW you have!
Now you don’t have any excuses to start eating breakfast…
