2 Common Pitfalls of Affiliate Marketing!

2 Common Pitfalls of Affiliate Marketing!

Affiliate Marketing can be one of the most rewarding ways to make money online. It can be extremely lucrative when done correctly. However, as an Affiliate Marketer you need to know how to successfully market a product that belongs to another company or person.

Affiliate Marketing is an excellent way to create a solid income stream, but it’s not simple. It takes skill and knowledge. Here are two of the most common pitfalls made by new affiliate marketers that ultimately can lead YOU to fail.

Pitfall number one…

Choosing Products to Promote Based on the Size Of Commission…

This is a common mistake made by new affiliate marketers. They look for products that have the highest commission and choose affiliates solely based on the amount of commission paid per sale. However, you need to remember that your goal is to make an income stream that will last long term into your future.

To do that you need more than a low interest product that pays a high commission. You want to start to create trust in your visitors so they come back and buy from you repeatedly. To do that you need to offer a legitimate product.

You also need to try this product and be able to say “this is something that I believe in and that I would use.” This will build relevance and trust for you and your company and help to create a long-term income stream for you. As you add new products over time, your customers are going to trust what you have to say, and keep buying from you.

Pitfall number two…

Affiliates Don’t Build a List!

One of the most common mistakes new affiliate marketers make is to send traffic directly to their sales page. The very first thing you need to do to build your Affiliate Marketing business is to build an e-mail marketing list. If you are sending traffic directly to your sales page you’ll get the one commission from them but that’s it.

However, if you take the time to build an e-mail marketing list, you’ll be able to make many commissions off one customer. You will build relationships and therefore long-lasting clients who are already targeted for the product(s) you are offering. Once you’ve created a list you will be able to market over and over again for as long as you want to for the same customers, as long as they stay subscribed. Start smart and build your e-mail list first before you do anything else.

If you can Avoid these two pitfalls you will be well on your way to becoming a successful affiliate marketer!

3 Affiliate Marketing Myths Debunked!

3 Affiliate Marketing Myths Debunked!

We’ve all heard it before…Affiliate Marketing doesn’t work, Affiliate Marketing is a scam, Affiliate Marketing is MLM, Affiliate Marketing is a thing of the past, Affiliate Marketing is too competitive…and the list goes on!

When it comes to Affiliate Marketing there’s an awful lot of myths floating around out there. Let’s have a  look at what I think are three of the main affiliate marketing myths that need to be debunked.

Affiliate Marketing Is a Thing of The Past

Because of Google’s changing algorithms for SEO, link building is outdated which means Affiliate Marketing is a thing of the past. Even though link building is not as useful as it once was, there are many, many ways that you can use SEO for, to create your brand and strengthen it.

Sure you might come across a few little problems with Google if you aren’t managing your program properly, but overall the entire idea of Affiliate Marketing will instill a presence with your website, your customers and to Google. After all, your site provides another source for relevant related information for consumers. This is what Google loves the most these days!

Managing Affiliate Systems Is Quick and Easy

As most of us already know and contrary to what you might have been told, Affiliate Marketing is not a get rich overnight business. Then again what is? Affiliate Marketing requires you to invest your time and energy into whatever niche you have chosen to pursue.

It takes quite a bit of work and the competition is fairly stiff in most niches, so don’t expect to make money right away. If you have the right mentor or coaching program, you will be taught how to drive down deep in the niche you have chosen to work with.

You can reasonably expect it will take anywhere from 6 months or more before you start to see the fruits of your labor!

Too many Internet Marketing entrepreneurs think that all you have to do is set up your website, pick an affiliate, and it will start to make money all by itself. Guess what? It simply is not true.

According to Three Ladders Marketing (based in Seattle WA) less than 1 percent of all Affiliate Marketers who were surveyed have been doing this since 2013. An Affiliate Marketing Business takes some time, effort and patience to build, but once you have done the groundwork including a lot of research and you have selected the right product, then you can begin to reap the benefits of an income stream now and well into the future.

You Need a Lucrative Niche For Philip Marketing To Be Successful

Before I get inundated with the question ‘WHAT IS PHILIP MARKETING’…Peter is a person and here is a ‘grab’ I found (from Wikipedia) after I entered the term into my google search bar…

Philip Kotler (born May 27, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American marketing author, consultant, and professor; currently the S. C. Johnson Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

He is the author of over 55 marketing books, including Principles of Marketing, Kotler on Marketing: How to Create, Win, and Dominate Markets, and Marketing 3.0: From Products to Customers to the Human Spirit. Kotler describes strategic marketing as serving as “the link between society’s needs and its pattern of industrial response.”

There are far too many companies that don’t even bother to give Affiliate Marketing a chance because they believe their market is just too small. Other companies will attempt to break into bigger niches even when they have no interest in that niche.

Yes, it’s true, the more popular niches do better when it comes to Affiliate Marketing, however, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy success. Stay true to the goals of your business, find affiliates who understand the importance of your market, and make sure you are comfortable with the affiliate you are considering.

It’s time to ignore and forget these Affiliate Marketing myths that plague us as budding Affiliate Marketers and start to discover the truths about making money with Affiliate Marketing and creating your dream and the freedom to produce a long-term income stream.

2 Ways to Successfully Incorporate Affiliate Marketing on Your Blog!

2 Ways to Successfully Incorporate Affiliate Marketing on Your Blog

Business10

When it comes to incorporating affiliate marketing on your blog there are many opinions about what is the right way to do this. Some say you should incorporate more ads in the sidebar, footer, and headers…others say there should be more text links and product reviews, and there are others who say that it simply doesn’t make sense and you can’t earn an income through affiliate marketing on your blog!

The truth is there are many ways to incorporate affiliate marketing into your blog successfully, and yes, you can make money by joining an affiliate marketing program and displaying it on your blog.

Here are what I think are the two best ways you can use to successfully incorporate affiliate marketing on your blog…

#1 Affiliate marketing is all about first impressions…

The tone is set for your visitors by the first impressions they get when they visit your site. In fact, their first impression will affect how and what they think right from the word go!

If they don’t like what they see or don’t like what you have presented, they will click the little ‘x’ in the top right-hand corner of their computer screen, never to be seen again! They will not buy your product.

Think about what YOU would do…what happens when all you see is ads splattered all over the place on the site YOU are visiting?

That’s right…most people leave. If the first impression your visitors get is that your site is all about getting the sale then you haven’t got a chance. Your site must be packed with well-researched information, it must be easy to navigate, and must have something of value to offer.

You must build trust with your visitors before they are even going to think about making a purchase! Your blog needs to be factual and interesting, and they need to feel like there is something of value…they need to feel like they are being educated…does your information solve their problem? If it does, you might stand a chance that they will consider making a purchase!

#2 Only promote products and services that you have actually used…

I have said this before…and it needs to be repeated again…

The way to earn an income from affiliate programs is to offer products and services that you have actually used yourself. If you haven’t tried a product or service you are trying to sell, how can you recommend it to the people who are visiting your site? What if your product does not meet their expectations?

What if you recommend a product that is useless? How would you feel? Who do you think the buyer is going to have a go at? They are going to remember purchasing that product from YOU. Not only that, they are probably going to ask for a refund. Your reputation has just been blown to pieces!

Without your reputation intact, you’ve got nothing! In the fast-paced world of social media interaction, you won’t stand a chance! It is crucial that you try every product or service before you decide to market it on your blog.

This is pretty basic stuff. If you stick to these two simple suggestions, it will help you to increase your affiliate marketing revenue, and create the income stream you are striving for to secure your future and live the life you want!

3 Mistakes New Affiliate Marketers Need To Avoid!

3 Mistakes New Affiliate Marketers Need To Avoid!

Business10

There are thousands of excellent products associated with Affiliate Marketing programs, but that doesn’t mean you should sign up for all of them! I know…it’s sometimes hard to resist…I am so guilty it’s embarrassing to admit! My hard drive is stuffed full of all the different products I have purchased over the past 4 years!

Let’s have a look at 3 of the biggest mistakes I have experienced in my 4 year journey learning how to become an Affiliate Marketer…

How many products should I start with?

Signing up to just one program is a good starting point. Get to know this program inside out. Teach yourself to become the expert with this program and the product you are promoting. When you first decide to make Affiliate Marketing a part of your income stream it is very easy to be tempted to buy all the ‘shiny objects’ that hit your inbox! Please try to resist the temptation!

I was a hopeless case…I went berserk buying EVERYTHING thinking it was going to be THE NEXT PRODUCT which would make me a fortune!

It is much better to start small, set up your sales funnel for the first product. Once you’ve got a handle on everything there is to know about your first product and you get a better understanding of how the Affiliate Marketing works, then perhaps you can start to look for other programs and products!

You will discover this is a far better and faster way to become successful. If you take on too many products you will end up not doing any of them properly. Many people will give up and quit because they are overwhelmed or convince themselves that Affiliate Marketing doesn’t work!

Don’t Waste Your Time With Low Converting Products…

There are literally millions of products out there that have an affiliate program associated with. Just because there is an affiliate program for a product doesn’t mean you should be the one promoting it. Conversion rates are very important in choosing which products to promote, because if you promote products that have a low conversion rates you aren’t going to make a lot of money.

Seek out the products that match your niche. Look out for products that are number one! It’s easy enough to do! Check out the top 10 selling products on Amazon…have a look to see what is selling. There will be reviews to read under Amazon products as well!

Ideally, whatever the product or affiliate program you chose to purchase, you must have had experience with the product so you can talk about it with an air of authority. It is highly unlikely you will have much success selling the product if you are unable to publish a decent post about the product! Believe me, the visitors to your site WILL KNOW! They can sense a good bluffing from the outset!

Your focus should be on the top selling products types. You must do your research. I keep on saying this, over and over again, but it needs to be said because I know a lot of people think they know best and simply don’t do the work that is required at the start. Don’t be too hasty, because the time you spend at the beginning will be rewarded with a better income stream in the future.

Have Realistic Expectations…

We have all heard about and read about the impressive money that the so called ‘gurus’ of Affiliate Marketing have made for themselves from Affiliate marketing.

However, at the risk of repeating myself again, what just about all of us do not realize at the start of our Affiliate Marketing endeavors, is this…it is going to take time, your effort and persistence before you are going to see any meaningful money starting to appear in your PayPal account!

You are about to experience a HUGE learning curve…there’s a lot to learn! Unless you have a background in sales and marketing or have true expertise in the target market you want to sell to, then you must be prepared to learn what you have to do! Affiliate Marketing is quickly becoming an art! There is a lot of competition out there and you have to learn how to stand out in the crowd!

What you have to realize right now is this…the people selling their programs and their products to you have done their research and their homework. It’s not as if they woke up one day with a million dollars in their bank accounts and declared themselves Affiliate Marketers!

Those who are successful have worked long and hard to enjoy the success which will come to all of us if we do what needs to done properly from the outset!

4 Top Tips for Affiliate Marketing Success on Your Blog!

4 Top Tips for Affiliate Marketing Success on Your Blog!

Business10

We all hear a lot of negativity about using affiliate marketing to create a passive revenue stream on our internet marketing websites, but the truth is, many are making an income stream through their blog by finding an affiliate that matches their brand! Let’s look at four of the top tips for you to enjoy successful affiliate marketing on your blog:

Let’s look at four of the top tips I think will help you to enjoy success with your affiliate marketing:

1. Remember content always comes first, your affiliate product comes second. While it is very important to describe what the product you are promoting can do to help solve a problem, the main focus of your blog needs to be about quality content.

Once you are satisfied the content has delivered the information your visitor is looking for, then you can start thinking about how you are going to assist them to decide to push the buy button! Never write a blog post where it is obvious the only goal is to advertise the affiliate product!

2. Only promote the products that are going to make you money, don’t waste your time on products that are going to generate short-term or one-off sales. Instead, focus your time and energy on promoting products that will make you money over and over again & ideally will attract repeat sales from the database you are building!

The only way you are going to find out which products are the best is to make sure you have your research and there will be some trial and error you have to go through. So do the basic work first, determine, which products are making you the most money, and get rid of any product which is not profitable for you!

Don’t waste the valuable space on your site with ads and content that are not going to make you money, so test, then test again, and then test again.

3. Create a resource page for your visitors. Resource pages are a  great place to promote your affiliate’s product by including links to their site. Visitors love resources and having a resource page means your visitor is far more likely to spend some time there checking out what you have to offer, and hopefully they click on the link to your affiliate’s product. This a win-win for everybody! Your visitor gets valuable information and you get the click through!

4. Your affiliate marketing should create a passive income. When it comes to affiliate marketing, as I have already discussed, your affiliate income should be secondary to the quality content you have written.

The focus of your blog will be to write outstanding content that your visitors want to read, and it should keep them coming back for more. Your affiliate links should be embedded in that content and be passively available to your visitors to click.

There are many people who start an internet marketing business in the hope of becoming successful with affiliate marketing, but many people fail because they expect things to happen overnight and do not do the work that is required.

But equally, there are many people who are successful setting up their internet marketing businesses as Affiliate Marketers. They learn how to create long-term, passive income streams that allow them to retire early, live the lifestyle they desire, and enjoy a way of life that would not have been possible without creating the Affiliate Marketing income stream.

So when you start your internet business as an Affiliate Marketer, always keep in mind that all the hard work you do in the beginning will be rewarded with long-term income streams.

2 Important Places to Put Your Affiliate Links!

2 Important Places to Put Your Affiliate Links!

Business10

I don’t know about you, but it always takes me a long time to decide where I put my affiliate links and how many should I put in any post I write? There has been many ‘guru’s float in and out of my life since I started to learn how I should be setting up my internet business, and most of them all have their own take on how often and where to put your affiliate links!

It is my opinion and I think it’s a good idea to use multiple strategies when you start to build your site and find products to sell in your niche. You should not place your affiliate links all in the same place. By mixing them up a bit and becoming a bit more creative, you are going to have a much better chance of boosting your affiliate income.

Let’s have look at what I think are two important places to put your affiliate links which hopefully will ensure you optimum success…

An Extension Page…

An extension page resembles a resource page, however, you will do a little bit more with it so that it feels connected and related to your brand.

For example, at the bottom of all the posts I write, I offer a brief summary about how I reached the stage my reader has, and I give them the opportunity to click on a ‘HERE’ button and the link to the product I am promoting is ‘hidden’ in that call to action! They will be taken to the Amazon page which hosts the product and hopefully they will buy!

I have just started to do this myself and will be testing one book to start off with to see how well it is received on the page.

At the very bottom of all the posts I have published, the last thing my visitors see is my affiliate banner which hopefully they will opt in to start the 28 day trial with the product I am offering, as I did 6 months ago. I’m sort of killing a few birds with one stone by doing it this way!

It’s what I call…

‘I’m not in your face to pressure you to buy anything if you don’t want to’ method!

It’s not obtrusive, but there is an opt-in for the potential buyer and an easy way to get a name and an email address! Even better they might sign up to your email list or buy the product and bingo a commission will be made!

If you place importance to make this process very smooth and create cohesiveness between visiting one site and buying on another in order for the visitor to complete the purchase, then you will create have created the impression of no hard sale! It is important to make your visitors feel they have not been pressured into buy anything! They made the decision all by themselves when they click the OPTIN or PURCHASE button!

Consider what you can add to your extension page that will provide your visitor with as much extra value as you can over and above ‘IT’S FREE’. What you want your visitor to think of this page is that they are going to find the answer to their question! The answer must be there for them.

When your visitor arrives there you now have an opportunity to sell them your product or service. When your affiliate links are correctly placed and you have provided the information that lures them and grabs their interest, then they are much more likely to click that link or purchase button and then you will earn a commission!

You Should Have A Resource Page…

Your resource page can be your top earning affiliate page if you set it up properly. A resource page is simply a page that lists any resources you recommend, and each resource will have a brief description attached to it. In that list is going to be your link to your affiliate marketing program. It is here that there is a high likelihood that your visitor will click that link, and buy the product you have to offer.

Your list on the resource page is going to contain all the affiliate links for every affiliate program you have signed up to. This is the page where you want all of your traffic, every visitor, and all the buyers to go berserk clicking on every link they can find for the problem they’ve been looking for because you have given them all the information you could find giving them every reason to make the purchase!

This will be a win-win for everyone. You make a commission, your visitor gets a product they want, and your affiliate merchant sells their product. A resource page is easy to create and one of the most valuable tools you’ll ever place on your blog or website.

If you use these two simple strategies, hopefully, it should help you to increase your income stream from Affiliate Marketing.

Breaking the Myths Around Affiliate Marketing!

Breaking the Myths Around Affiliate Marketing!

Business10

Over the last 4 years or so since I embarked on the journey to set up my Internet Marketing Business and  trying to learn everything there is to know about Affiliate Marketing, I have stumbled on what I believe to be a few myths about Affiliate Marketing!

There are certain Affiliate Marketing products out there, which lead to some people passing on certain programs. I think you need to know and understand what a few these myths are so you can make the right decisions to grow your business and choose an Affiliate Marketing program that will generate income for you.

Below are a couple myths I thought you would like to have a think about…

Myth #1

Affiliate Programs are Quick and Easy to Run…

Most of us have come to realize very quickly that Affiliate Marketing takes quite a bit of knowledge and you need some skills to present your product to your target market. There’s more than a bit of work involved and somehow you will have to find a way to stand out. I think it’s fairly safe to say that we all thought it was going to be a stroll in the park, however, the reality of what the learning process has come as quite a shock to just about all of us!

There’s a huge amount of competition out there and it’s imperative you have done your research, know who your target market is and where you are going to send the message to! You’re not going to make money immediately and you need to know it’s going to take some time for you to build a successful platform and for your site to grow some legs.

Depending on what the Affiliate Program is in your niche, your product might help to bring quite a bit of organic traffic to your site, but it’s all up to you on how you present the product which hopefully, will turn your traffic into paying customers.

Myth #2

For Affiliate Marketing To Work, You Need a Popular Niche…

There are many people out there who avoid Affiliate Marketing because they think their market is too small. Some people will attempt to enter larger market niches even when they really don’t have any interest in that niche.

If you learn how to search and utilize keywords properly, there is every chance your product will shine and succeed in any niche. You can succeed and excel in any large or broad niche market. The most important thing to do is focus on your goals and find the targets who fit your focus, and where you feel the most comfortable. There are many ways to do this!

Myth #3

Affiliate Marketing Is No Longer Relevant…

Google’s algorithms for SEO are changing all the time, which is leading a lot of people to believe that now is not the time for Affiliate Marketing. There is a misconception that we have ‘missed the boat’. However, there are all kinds of new & different ways we can use for search engine optimization to create your brand and promote our products!

You could run into a few Google problems, but usually, all of this makes sense to Google as long as you are offering relevant material to web searchers and your clients. So don’t give up on Affiliate Marketing just because Google’s algorithms have changed. Most of the time you’re not going to know anything about it anyway. If something major does happen, we are all going to find out about it fast enough!

Google algorithms will continue to change and evolve over time, but as long as you are offering content that is relevant and not breaking any of Google’s rules, your Affiliate Marketing business will continue to grow and enjoy success.

Affiliate Marketing is a great way to increase traffic to your website and improve profits for your business as long as your product matches your brand. It will allow you to create one or more secondary income streams, which over time, will grow and flourish when done properly and correctly!

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

Business10

A Bit of History…

Can you remember exactly when the World Wide Web and what we now simply refer to as ‘the Internet’ started? For me, it was like I woke up one day and it was just there and happening! I arrived at my work desk one day and somebody had put a computer on it. What the???? I freaked out and resigned…’what the you know what’ was I going to do with that contraption…let alone be forced to learn how to use it!

Now, ‘what the you know what’ would we do without a computer, the internet, and everything that comes with it? Here we are, learning how to become Affiliate Marketers with our computers virtually joined at the hip!

Affiliate Marketing got its start on the Internet back in the 1990s. As with any new technology, companies were quick to realize what a tremendous opportunity it was to start marketing their products and services using the Internet.

Aggressive companies looking to expand their sales platform were quick to realize that the Internet had the potential to reach millions of people around the globe like never before. Today Affiliate Marketing allows for products and services to be presented to consumers via millions of websites and blogs that are visited daily.

Once the search engine’s arrived, the Internet grew exponentially and became a massive e-commerce opportunity. Websites created valuable content and information which in turn provided tremendous benefits to Internet servers and it didn’t take too long before the website owners wanted compensation for their hard work.

The earliest forms of online advertising like the placement of affiliate marketing ads or CPM evolved, and more accountable forms of Affiliate Marketing began to spring up like mushrooms! Affiliate Marketing is at the very core a relationship between three parties…the consumer, the affiliate, and the product being sold.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Really Work?

Technology can be pretty daunting, and that certainly includes the Internet. There’s a lot for us to grasp and understand online…the people who came up with e-commerce and the advertising format that became affiliate marketing really led the way in what we can do online today. The same people had to rely on technology that we now know as ‘the cookie.’

Cookie technology works with your web browser to store information about the visitor, his or her preferences, their registration information, their login information, and their shopping cart contents. If you have ever opted to have a site remember your username and password that’s a cookie.

Have you ever noticed when you’re searching the Internet for deals, and you suddenly start to see banners and ads relating to what your search was, start to appear on other websites? A cookie makes that possible.

With Affiliate Marketing, the cookie has another task…that is to remember the link the visitor clicked to arrive at the site. The cookie can even store the date and time that it took place and it can be used to remember the type of website or the content on that site.

There are different types of cookies and each has their own use, but when it comes to Affiliate Marketing, first party cookies are used. When a visitor arrives at the website of the publisher and they click on the ad of an advertiser, the visitor’s browser receives a tracking cookie that identifies the advertiser, the publisher, the advertisement and the amount of commission.

This data is then stored within the link, in what are called parameters. In order for you to be paid your commission for a sale as an affiliate, a tracking cookie must be in place. If you forget to include your special linking information in your product links, this cookie cannot be created, and you will not be paid for the sale.

Use Sidebar Banner Ads on Your Blog For Your Affiliate Marketing!

Use Sidebar Banner Ads on Your Blog For Your Affiliate Marketing!

Business10

Using sidebar banner ads on your blog or website are an excellent way to incorporate your affiliate marketing providing you understand the importance of the type of ad and where it is placed.

Using a 125 x 125 pixel banner ad in the sidebar can be a good way to create interest in your affiliate’s offer. How many of these banner ads you run will depend on the layout of your website or blog. Many of the most successful companies using affiliate marketing will place four of these ads on their website or blog in the sidebar and each ad will depict a different message and show a different graphic.

For example, you might be the affiliate for engagement rings, so you put together four different graphic ads that each depicts a different graphic along with a different message. These ads are then placed your sidebar providing your visitor with a different message.

Make sure to take your time to experiment with this method and test over and over again, until you tweak which ads are bringing you the highest click through rate, and therefore creating the greatest income for you.

Occasionally, you can embed an affiliate link into your blog post. This works if you are already talking about a specific niche that relates to your affiliate marketing product, and it fits into the conversation naturally. Then you can recommend this product based on personal experience with it. This can work in conjunction with your sidebar ads. Remember never over saturate your pages, because your visitor will get annoyed and leave, never clicking through to your affiliate. That is lost revenue for you!

Remember never over saturate your pages with ads, because your visitor will get annoyed and leave, never to be seen again…never clicking on your ad. That is lost revenue for you!

I suggest you don’t write your blog posts with the idea that they will make money for you from your affiliate. People are way too smart for this and they see right through it. Make your posts interesting and engaging first, and make it look like your affiliate link is an after thought!

Always remember, unless you’re driving traffic to your site with the idea of making money from your affiliate link, it’s just wasted space on your website or blog.

Some affiliate marketers disagree with the use of sidebar ads, but just as many have found success with this method. The key is to find what is right for your website or blog and what works for your traffic. Your visitors are your top priority! Finding what keeps them happy means increased revenues for you!

5 Steps to Start Your Affiliate Marketing Business!

5 Steps to Start Your Affiliate Marketing Business!

Business10

Affiliate Marketing is big business and it’s booming!

There are many people who are taking advantage of Affiliate programs to start or increase their sales online. When you sign up for an Affiliate program, you are given a link that has your unique identifier. This affiliate link is what you will need to use in your marketing of the affiliate’s product, in order for you to be paid your commission when a sale occurs. Getting involved with an affiliate program is a great way to generate some addition income and build a long-term income stream.

Listed below are 5 steps you need to consider when you decide to start…

Step 1 – Do your research. There are plenty of different affiliate programs online and you want to find one that fits with your brand, has a good conversion rate and a decent commission. Experts agree that a five percent conversion rate is reasonable. Translated, this means for every 100 people that your link sends to the merchant’s site, 5 people will buy.

Step 2 – Once you have decided on the affiliate program that is right for you, you need to join the affiliate program. In some cases, you may need to wait for a short while before you are accepted.

Step 3 – Now it is time to begin to promote the affiliate program on your site or blog. Many merchants will have tutorials and plenty of information on how to get the most out of your links.

Step 4 – Make sure that your site’s content is relevant and valuable to your visitors. If you create a sales page that offers nothing more than a promotion for the affiliate product, you will be sadly disappointed.

Step 5 – Drive targeted traffic to your site or blog. If you want to earn commission from your affiliate, you need to drive traffic to your site, and that traffic needs to be targeted. The more traffic that your website gets the greater the likelihood that you are going to generate sales. There are a number of ways that you can target traffic to your site.

Article Marketing: Write an article on a topic that is related to your affiliate product and then insert a link to your site in the article’s resource box. Submit the article to credible article directories.

Pay-per-click (PPC) Advertising: PPC advertising programs can generate a great deal of traffic. The two most effective and popular PPC advertising programs are Yahoo Search Marketing and Google Adwords.

Post Messages to a Forum: You can post messages on related community forums and then place a link to your site in the signature line of the message.

Post videos: Create videos that are related to your product. This is the quickest and most effective way to create trust with your visitors. You can then provide a link underneath the video to the product of your affiliate.

If you follow these suggestions you will be well on your way to setting up your online internet affiliate marketing business!
